These tapered leaders have been designed for use in long-range carp fishing where heavy leads or feeders are coupled with both normal or light line reel lines to achieve the distances often required on big waters.

The use of a leader will enable you to exert maximum power during the cast without risking a 'crack-off' because the leader will absorb the shock. Fox - 'Soft Steel Tapered Leaders' are 12 metres in length and feature a parallel section of the tip diameter which then gradually increases in diameter to form the taper up to the butt diameter. It is mainly due to this gradual tapering that casting resistance is are maximised ensuring that valuable metres are not lost. During development, we choose the tip diameters to match the most popular sizes of Soft Steel, however these leaders are totally suitable with reel lines as low as 6lb/8lb, ideally to the 12lb/35lb or 8lb/10lb to the 15lb/45lb. Attach the tip (thin end) of the leader to your main line using a shock leader knot (full instruction included), and, the resulting knot will be very neat and will pass through your rod rings with minimum resistance. There are two leaders to choose from: 15lb to 45lb (0.39 to 0.64mm) and 12lb to 35lb (0.34 to 0.50mm). Another valuable benefit that our tapered leaders bring is when fishing near to weed or snags as the thicker end of the leader will provide the extra abrasion resistance associated with Soft Steel!

Finally, when playing fish, you will appreciate the fact that the leaders have been designed with just the correct amount of stretch to absorb the sudden lunges that can cause a connection between a traditional leader made from ordinary, thick mono and reel line of a much lower diameter to part........with the thinner end of the leader safely on your reel, only that line outside the reel spool will be subject to the stress created by launching your rig or playing your fish at close quarters!

TB Spod Braid has been specifically developed for heavy duty bait rocket and spod work. Incorporating ultra strong bonded Dyneema filaments with a breaking strain of over 30lbs, TB Spod Braid is incredibly tough and hard wearing and can be safely used without a shock leader for all but long range casting with very heavy spods. The tight weave and low diameter allows smooth, extreme range casting with minimal wind knots and tangles.

The buoyant fluorescent yellow filaments ensure the braid is highly visible in all conditions – this can prove invaluable when positioning rods around the spodded area, preventing tangles and crossovers.

Care should be taken when casting heavy spods withbraid. ALWAYS ensure the clutch is screwed up tight & cannot slip. For long range work a leather finger guard is recommended. 11/08 JJ

Warrior Carp line is formulated and extruded to Fox’s own stringent

specification. This has created a line that is affordable, economical and features

qualities that have only ever been seen before on premium priced monofilaments. Warrior is extremely tough and hard wearing yet limp and manageable,

incorporating a wet knot strength that is consistently strong and reliable. Tied

correctly with grinner or palomar knots each of the line classes will provide a knot strength well in advance of their stated loadings. Available in a choice of two colours low viz platinum grey or dark camo green and in 10lb, 12lb and 15lbs.
